Dovetail Studios and Same Planet Performance Project is hosting the first ever MIXXED Dance Festival for companies/artists who are emerging. Artists must have at least four years of professional experience outside of undergraduate programs and all genres are welcome.

We are looking for 6 participants to perform on April 3-4, 2026. Each artist will have 15 minutes to present their work. We are looking for duets or group works. Please no solos. Deadline for applications is January 5th

Participants will receive 10 free hours of rehearsal space in studio 2 or 3, Monday – Friday between the hours of 9am and 4pm.

Please submit a video and resume. You do not have to present what you share with us.

Artists must be available to tech on Wednesday April 1st and dress rehearsal Thursday 2 between 9am and 4pm. We will not tech or dress in the evenings.

Performances are Friday and Saturday at 7pm.

This is an unpaid opportunity. Dovetail Studios provides free marketing materials, free performance photography, free video, then all tech costs and performance related costs are covered by Dovetail Studios.

Participants will be asked to help market the performances via social media.

Please note that Dovetail’s audience is seated either on 2 sides or 3 sides depending on size of house. Dovetail’s space will not situated as a proscenium stage.
